Criminal

The fact is that making biodiesel in Maryland is criminal.  My dad the lawyer says the law is not just in MD but is an IRS statute. Has to do with the way fuel is taxed. It also applies to natural gas mixtures that can fuel vehicles.

    If you tax yourself for the use, you're still legal.
    Road taxes are normally charged by the distributor, you know, Shell, Citgo, Baltimore Biodiesel Cooperative. They run $0.249 per gallon for Maryland and $0.25 per gallon for the Feds.

    Now how you might actually document this properly, I don't know. Will look into it and post the procedure for taxing your own fuel, when I figure it out.
